Parking Garage Design for the
CambridgeSide Galleria
Cambridge, Massachusetts
Cambridge, Massachusetts, among
the most densely developed communities in the United States,
is very sensitive to the need of optimizing land use. DeShazo,
Tang & Associates, Inc. was hired to modify the original parking
layout design for CambridgeSide Galleria, a mixed-use facility
consisting of a shopping mall, hotel, and office building located
on a tightly restricted site. The Galleria was served by 1,600
underground parking spaces and 800 aboveground parking spaces.
DT&A introduced new operational methods and structural design
layouts to improve the efficiency of the garage and provide
two large truck docks.
