| St. John Medical Center Parking Garage
Tulsa, Oklahoma
A proposed expansion of 140,000 square feet of medical offices and a parking facility for the St. John Medical Center was expected to cause some traffic congestion while solving some serious parking shortages. DeShazo, Tang & Associates, Inc. conducted in-depth studies to determine the changes in traffic access and circulation needed to ensure smooth traffic movement.
The addition of through lanes, turning lanes and the signalization of an intersection – including geometric improvements – were recommended for roadways adjacent to the site. Suggested changes for site circulation included increased use of well-marked and lighted pedestrian walkways.
Complete engineering services from functional design to construction details were provided for a 1,250-space parking facility. The garage has one-way circulation, angled parking stalls, and a crossover bridge to connect into an existing seven-level garage.
