Dallas Arts District
Dallas, Texas

DeShazo, Tang & Associates, Inc. developed a master plan for the Dallas Arts District, a 14-block/60-acre site in Downtown Dallas, which is the largest of its kind in the United States. Contained within this district are the Dallas Museum of Art, the Meyerson Symphony Center, the Nasher Sculpture Garden, the Arts Magnet School, the Belo Home, the Cathedral Santurio de Guadalupe, the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, and over 10M square feet of office space -- each with their unique transportation and parking needs. The master plan design addressed the impact these institutions would have on the surrounding thoroughfares, provided mitigation measures to offset potential negative impacts and included underground parking with 20,000 spaces, an underground goods and services spine road, pedestrian and vehicle access/circulation systems, and a connection to a planned subway system.
