TRANSIT PLANNING
DeShazo, Tang & Associates, Inc.
has worked closely with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) in
determine the impact of at-grade light rail transit (LRT) on cross
streets. DT&A developed the initial criteria for analyzing the
need for grade separations along the LRT routes. Much of the methodology
developed was incorporated into the Institute of Transportation
Engineers criteria, which was adopted some time later. The basic
criteria remain a valuable tool and are being used in several
venues across the country.
